Second Thoughts
I have been experimenting madly with Second Life’s new Sculpted Prim feature. These things are so great, opening up so many possibilities for builders. I feel like a newbie again, twisting tori on my First Land. :)
My experiments have led me to try modifying the sculpted prim shape using SL’s video features. Instead of using a single sculptmap image to define it’s shape, this sculpture uses a special movie. I created about a dozen distinct shapes, created sculptmaps for them, then created a video that blends them together to create the smooth transitions. There’s also some tricky scripting involved to increase the rate at which the shape updates.
