Sculptie Stream

I’ve seen some nifty sculpted prim water in SL recently, so I though I mike try making some of my own. The results are pretty nice I think. Here’s a quick video of my work in progress.

Sculpties are perfect for these organic shapes. And the variations in the flowing texture look more realistic. I’ve layered another partially transparent texture on top of the water texture.

Thanks. Griffin.

Yeah, I was surprised how much of a difference a second texture layer made. For the second layer I used a waterfall texture I made that was mostly transparent and slightly blended at the edges.

Next I am going to try a full sculpty waterfall.

Vlad, Lucy told me this water was amazing, and she’s right. Fantastic.

That’s absolutely wonderful water!

Works great with the sound, too.

Thank you Desmond.

Yes, I think I need to package it with some environmental sounds. Running water is a soothing sound and it would add to the realism. Maybe a way to make it fade in and out. Sometimes an ambient sound can get annoying when you hear it repeatedly.

Nice work, you’ve been a real inspiration for me. I’m from TSL and theres a major lacking in sculpty use, so I don’t have much to learn from, so images like these are a major help.
