Interior decorating at Intel®

Intel Interior Decorating.

I’ve recently completed a job on Intel Island doing a bit of Interior Decorating. Funny what you can end up doing in Second Life. If you knew me in RL you would know that I am not much for fancy homes and buildings :)

I actually found this job through a local RL contact, working for the CMD Agency. Intel wanted one of their current buildings updated, a new color scheme, and a new look and feel. I re-did the interior colors and textures, added some recessed lighting, created new signs and kiosks, and generally spruced the place up. My favorite part was the watery walkway that we put on top of the building. A peaceful little stroll with a sort of Zen Garden feel.

This was a great learning experience for me. The guys at the CMD Agency were really great to work with - I felt sort of buffered from the serious corporate atmosphere and was free to do my creative thing. It was an interesting challenge meeting Intel’s requirements and collaborating on a very visible project. Working on an the existing Millions of Us building was fun too. The hardest part was matching the high quality of the textures, MOU are very good at that fake shadowing technique that has become so popular.

All in all it was a very positive experience and I hope to be working with CMD and/or Intel again. You can see the building on Intel Software Network sim.
