I’ve been using Twitter quite a bit lately, both for posting my own stuff and for discovering new and shiny digital tidbits. I keep a couple of search windows open in TweetDeck, searching for various ways of mentioning Second Life. Turns out it’s a great way to discover how people are really using SL, ‘cuz you see tweets from everyone, not just the people you agree with and follow.
A pair of successive tweets from africafeed: “I’ve never used Second Life either. It sounds like the antithesis of twitter.” Followed by: “A virtual refuge designed for people who are uncomfortable with themselves and where they try to grope each other’s avatars. #SecondLife”
Chivalrybean: I won the poetry reading in Second Life. Longfellow FTW!
ilauredhel: @raph_rumbelow SecondLife’s more than just “playing”; there are virtual universities, etc. My women with disabilities group meets there. #sl
robbyanderson: my Second Life experience was a series of WTFs. Never again.
zyraquest: Editing house in SL, removing a wall I didn’t like. I thought to myself by accident; “I hope this isn’t a support wall” LMAO.
Sonjario: My husband doesn’t want me on Twitter, because I met him on a game called second life and now he thinks I’m searching for love again. LOL
mariabrophy: Dealing with a case of art infringement on Second Life. Wow, it’s a 2nd world! People surfing on Drew’s virtual boards on virtual waves…
