“And as for all of you – the people all over the world who have built Second Life – you all feel very near and dear to me, and I want you to be a part of this next adventure.  I can’t say enough, or say thank you enough, about the experience that has been watching Second Life come to life.   On a personal level, it has deeply changed me.  I am a different and better person, in part through the experience of being in Second Life with all of you.” -Philip Linden

She waits for you. A shining light of geometry. A vessel containing her song to you. She guards the pool not far from the naked sleeper. Rest inside the belly of the Enchantress.

There’s a new version of zBrush. Great news for zBrushers, but it looks like it’s a bit tricky to get Sculpty Maker working with zB3.5.  Taarna Welles stopped by and left a few tips about how she got Sculpty Maker working with her copy of zBrush 3.5. Thanks Taarna!

I have worked with version 3.1 creating sculpties.
I bought Z-Brush 3.5 so I had to install the plugins again
but I had some trouble to create sculpties in 3.5.
I couldn’t create sculpties at all. As soon I tried to create a sculpty Z-Brushed crashed. I know Z-Brush can be very sensitive if you follow the wrong sequence. The plugins were in the right folder so it must be something else.

It took a while to sort out on two machines (one PC running XP the other Vista).
It works now after I follow the sequence below.

Start Z-Brush
Preferences – Initialize ZBrush
Chose new object
Make Polymesh3D
Modify your shape
Resize shape on all axes
Save your sculpty in ZTool (very important before you export your sculpty)
Export Sculpty

Taarna had some great samples of here sculpty work posted on her Flickr page.
