We had a blast tip-toeing through the virtual tulips today as we Collabricated along with Mother Nature. Lots of floral themes, a few trees, some mushrooms, and one giant sammich eatin’ ant. :)

Working with everyone today really gave me a creative boost, inspired we to work on some new fantasy based flowers and plants for my FloraPrims store. It also reminded me how excited I was when I discovered Fallingwater’s flowers in my early days of SL explorations. There are so many graceful, natural, delicate curves hidden in those seemingly simple prims. Thanks to Sindy, teeg, aaron, Corcosman, Dragger, Razitra, Ina, Maximillien, and everyone else who joined us today.

Our next session is tomorrow (sept 7th) at 5pm slt time. Come on down and join us!

We had another fun Collabricate session yesterday, continuing with the Circles them. Several folks from Saturday’s session came back for some more digital doodling. I can tell that as we continue with these experiments that it will become easier to work together. Still feels a little odd to make changes to something that another person is working on.  :)

I will definitely make this a weekly event. I think we will stick with the weekends, but I might also experiment with some other days and times. So hard to schedule something in SL that works for everyone who is interested. Stay tuned for more details.

Everything that we created in the first two sessions is still rezzed on the sim. Drop in and have a look it ya like. I’ll be collecting our favorite pieces as we go and then we’ll have a show to display all our spiffiest doodles. :)

We had a great time Collabricating today. :) It was very interesting to see what happens when we (try to ) ignore our habits of having full control over our creations. About a dozen adventurous souls showed up and contributed their Circular ideas. Particles were popular today, as well as kinetic pieces and the glow feature.

Thanks to everyone who came by – and remember that there is another session scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday the 31st) at 5 pm SL time. See ya there! :D

I would like to invite you to join me this weekend for an experiment in collaborative, real time building. Collabricate!

I’ve always thought that the interactive 3d building process was sort of under used in SL. It’s really cool that we can create interactively in a 3D environment with multiple people from around the globe – but we usually end up building in seclusion on some remote platform.

What I’d like to do is set up a regular event where people are encouraged to create together in a positive, free form environment. We’ll pick a theme, start building, and see what comes into being. Who knows, we might even learn something in the process. :) All skills levels will be welcome. All that you need to bring are your building, scripting, texturing, and other skills along with a willingness to cooperate and interact.

Right now I am thinking that spreading it across two days will give more people a chance to get in-world and participate. I’ll have some more details as the weekend approaches.

Saturday and Sunday August 30th and 31st at my sim: Sunset Myst. We’ll be building from 11am – 1pm (SLT) on Saturday and 5 – 7pm on Sunday. Please leave suggestions and ideas in the comments, or send ‘em my way in-world. Hope to see ya there!
