A couple of months ago I created the Shiny Mix – a compilation of all of my favorite Second Life news feeds and blog entries that’s updated every hour. I use it every day to satisfy my craving for SL news. :)

Now you can add the Shiny Mix to your own site or blog with these handy-dandy widgets. You can get one in a horizontal format, or a skinnier 200 pixel wide version that will fit in most blog sidebars. Just click one of the Share buttons below to grab the code you’ll need.

BTW – I used a great, free service called Sprout to make these. Really interesting set of on-line tools for creating interactive, embeddable content.

Textures R Us is the oldest and best texture store in SL. A gazillion and one high quality textures from over 70 different artists, including some of my own nature and landscaping textures. There are so many textures in the store that it can be a bit overwhelming. That problem is now solved with a new TRU website.

You can now search and view the entire collection on the Web and when you find a set of textures that you like, you can teleport directly to the set in-world to purchase. They’ll also be adding the ability to purchase directly from the website. Shiny. :)

My name is Vlad Bjornson, and I’m an info addict. :) I’m a bit obsessive about keeping up with the latest SL news and I’m constantly checking the forums and SL related blogs for bits of  interesting news and helpful tips.

To make my second life easier, and hopefully yours as well, I have created a new website called ShinyMix. It’s a collection of all the RSS feeds from my favorite SL blogs – all wrapped up in a spiffy, easy to read package. The feeds are updated ever hour so you can find something new just about any time of the day or night.

ShinyMix contains the feeds from 25 of my favorite blogs, most of them dealing with news, art, and content creation. I’ll add more feeds as I stumble on new sites that match my interests and the Shiny Life theme.  I’d also love to hear your suggestions for blogs to add to the mix.

A shotgun blast of metaverse goodies.

I stumbled on this cool weekly video series about Second Life called Metaverse Week in Review. Lots of stuff features every week with interviews, machinima, news, and all sorts of shiny virtual world goodies. It’s produced by Mal Burns who also runs a blog, the Mal Burns Annex. Mal’s a busy guy – regular blog posts, this weekly video show, and who knows what else. The sites and videos are a bit scattered, but there’s a lot of great info to be found. Looks like I found a new addition to my RSS reader. :)
