I love this energetic Machinima by Bettina Tizzy featuring Madcow Cosmos’ interactive, customizable alien avatar. @Bettina: “Making a little video featuring Madcow Cosmos’ latest: the Alien Cloning Device w/scripts by @Tezcatlipoca and sounds by Lorin Tone”

You can customize your own alien at Madcow’s Primordial Soup and Sandwich.

Chaffro has been on a roll lately, creating some really fantastic SL machinimas featuring lots of Tinies, great camera work, and flawless editing. Here’s his latest creation, and entry into Coldplay’s contest to create a video for their song Lost?

From the ‘How the heck did they do that‘ department comes this nifty machinima that’s a promo for a movie called In the Hands of the Gods. The movie is about a group of football (soccer) freestylers that are trying to raise money for a trip to Buenos Aries to meet one of there idols. Looks like they took a side trip to Second Life along the way.

The avatar animations are super smooth, created by the very popular Sine Wave animations. At least I think they are. There is nothing really posted about this video, how it ties into the movie, any possible in-world examples, or anything else for that matter. But is sure is a nice effect.

I really want to know how they got that ball to match the avatar movemenets so closely. Never seen anything like it. I have a suspiscion that the ball is actually a disguised, animated body part but I’m not sure how that would work. Any ideas?

*Update:  This just in from Rohan at Sine Wave: “Hey there, actually the ball is an avatar, with a regular animation on it, moving just the hips. if you look closely you can see where the inviziprims cover the bits we couldn’t fit inside the ball.”

Here’s a burst of energy and fun to brighten up your virtual day. The Fuzznuts are a tiny cover band and this is their rendition of the Ting Ting’s That’s Not My Name. Chaffro has several other really cool SL machinimas, including a tiny version of Thriller.  Tiny Power!
