I’ve finally given in against the rising tide of Twitter and am trying it out. :) When Twitter first came online I was very skeptical. Why would I want to know about every little event in a person’s life? As the service has matured it seems to have morphed into something much more useful and interesting – a sort of living news source and social aggregate.

So, what the heck. I’m VladBjornson on Twitter. Follow me for news and tidibts about SL that don’t make it to this blog, as well as updates about the software and websites that I use on a daily basis. Heck, I might even through in an opinion or two. :)

Snowy’s awesome build at my Sunset Myst sim is showcased on the ‘SL Things to Do’ site – a great blog that lists all sorts of cool places to visit in SL. Lovely photos by Lainy Voom and a nice write up about the sim, too.  Thanks, Jenn!

I’ve been doing a lot of fishing lately – virtual fishing. I was searching for some fun activities to add to my Sunset Myst Hiking Trails when I came upon the 7Seas store. About an hour later I looked at my inventory folder bulging with cute, fishy pets and knew I had found what I was looking for.  ;)

The folks at 7Seas have cooked up a really fun, not to mention addictive,  game. You can fish at dozens of 7Seas enabled fishing holes all over the grid, catching what must be hundreds of different virtual fish. Some are cute, some are funny, some are realistic. You can attach the fish to your avatar or plop them into a virtual aquarium, too.

There’s no real skill involved, but there’s something about the game that makes you want to make just one…more..cast…to try and get that next super rare fish. You can even visit different spots to try and catch the custom fish that people create just for their own fishin’ holes. You’ll also find spare parts and blueprints that you can use to create even more nifty items.

I installed the 7Seas system at Sunset Myst. Come on down and drop a line in the mountain stream and try to catch my first custom fish – the realistic Red Band Rainbow Trout.

I held my first tournament today to test everything out.  We maxed out the Homestead style sim with 20 avs Not a single glitch and we all had a great time. I did almost get eaten by a giant Eagle,  though. :)

Yesterday was my 3rd Rezday in SL – yay me! :) I took the chance earlier this week to go through my snapshots folder and saved out most of the interesting photos that I found. It was a lot of fun and brought back many fond memories of my virtual life – things I’ve accomplished, people I’ve met, places I’ve been.

Visit my flickr page to see all 130 of my rezday snapshots

When I logged on for the first time I certainly never expected that SL would become such a large and important part of my life. I’m having as much fun now as I was in my first week. Still learning, still meeting great people from all over the world, still in awe at the wonderful world we have all created.

Viva la Second Life!

Another video for the easily amused: Fluttersphere. 101 physical, flapping butterflies. Supposedly my attempt to test SL’s new sim server software (v1.24) but really just an excuse for a bit of butterfly overload.

It’ll be rezzed for a couple of days on my sim if you’d like to flutter in for a look-see.
